Legacy Series Update

We’re entering the final stretch of the 2015 Legacy Series and boy, what a ride it has been. We’ve already had a Championship, five Legacy Classics, and a bunch of Legacy Spotlight Events scattered throughout the Valley making the race to the Legacy Series Masters even tighter.

So what’s going on in these final months of the Legacy Series? Read below:

Spotlight Event Update

If you aren’t aware, we’ll be heading to Rookies 2 Legends on July 26th for our next Summer Classic – view the event page here for the details! But we have much more going on in July. Yes, more Spotlight Events!

Here are the following dates and locations for July’s Spotlight Events:

  • July 16th – Rookies 2 Legends – 15602 N 35th Ave, Phoenix, AZ, United States 85053, 7pm, $5
  • July 24th – Crusaders Retreat – 3851 E Thunderbird Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85032, 7pm, $5
  • August 3rd – Critical Threat Comics – 715 S Forest Ave Tempe, Arizona, 7pm, $5

Masters Qualifications Refresh

Here are the ways to qualify for the Legacy Series Masters on September 5th:

  • Any player with three or more Legacy Classic or Championship Top 8s
  • Legacy Series Seasonal Champion
  • Any player who is not already qualified and is in the Top 16 on the Points Leaderboard
    • Any player who is tied with the 16th player will also qualify

Yes, there is a slight change – players who achieve 3 or more Top 8s or win a Championship are removed from the Top 16 before the Top 16 is determined. All this means is that more players will be able to make it to the Masters.

I’ve been asked many times, “What happens if there are multiple people tied for 16th place?” The answer is – all of them are! No tiebreakers here folks. This will put the Legacy Series Masters event at roughly 18-25 players. Not super small event by any means, but anybody there has proven their worth. It won’t be an easy event.

Any Questions?

We know that the qualification system can be a bit confusing at times, so if you have any questions, please email me at [email protected] or shoot me a message on Facebook and we’ll answer them, or possibly post an article with the most commonly asked questions. We want to make sure everyone has a clear idea of how they can compete for the Legacy Series Masters!

Happy playing!
