With the Spring Season now in the books, we look forward to our second Legacy Series Season – the Summer Season! While the first Summer Classic kicks off on May 23rd at Samurai Comics (which we have something cool brewing up, so keep reading), we will still have Spotlight Events in the meanwhile, to cure your Legacy appetite.
May Spotlight Event Schedule
Our Spotlight Events are a great way to help earn your berth for our Legacy Series Masters event later this year. Each month, we choose a couple of weekly Legacy events around the Valley and award Legacy Series Points. If you can’t attend our Legacy Classic events or just need those final points to crack your way into the Top 16, we encourage you to check out a Spotlight Event or two!
For May, we will be spotlighting the following two events:
- Saturday, May 9th – Mesa Comics. 7pm, $5 entry fee
- Monday, May 18th – Pop Culure Paradise Tempe. 7pm, $5 entry fee
Spotlight Event Points Increase
Starting in May, we are increasing the amount of points that one can earn at a Spotlight Event! Here are the different tournament formats, along with the points awarded:
3-Round Event (no cut to single elimination):
- 3 wins: 2 Legacy Series Points
- 2 wins: 1 Legacy Series Point
4-Round Event (no cut to single elimination):
- 4 wins: 3 Legacy Series Points
- 3 wins: 2 Legacy Series Points
5-Round Event (no cut to single elimination):
- 5 wins: 3 Legacy Series Points
- 4 wins: 2 Legacy Series Points
- 3 wins: 2 Legacy Series Points
Swiss with cut to Top 4:
- Top 4: 2 Legacy Series Points
Swiss with cut to Top 8:
- Top 8: 2 Legacy Series Points
Summer Classic – Modern Masters Edition
Modern Masters 2015 Edition lands on May 22nd. Our Summer Classic is on May 23rd. Coincidence? Nope! I’m happy to announce that our Summer Classic on May 23rd at Samurai Comics will award Modern Masters 2015 Edition booster packs as prizes to the Top 8!
